COVID-19 Update

You are still required to wear a face mask when visiting Maraenui Medical Centre. We have a box at reception, should you need one.

Please find below some helpful information:

RAT Tests.

  • These can now be purchased or collected from a testing station, or you can do a supervised test at a testing station.

  • Maraenui Medical is not a RAT kit collection point.

  • You can order RAT tests from here or via your Covid Tracer App or phone 0800 222 478.

If you test positive on a RAT test:

  • Go online to mycovidrecord.nz , set up an account (if you do not have one) and report test result
    or

  • Phone 0800 222 478 between 8am and 8pm, 7 days a week, to report the positive results

Isolation

  • As soon as you test positive, you must start isolation.

  • Isolation means you can not go to the supermarket or the pharmacy, children can not go to school. If you need help with shopping or collecting medicine - please call family or friends who are not isolating or phone 0800 512 337.

  • Your household members do not need to isolate with you, unless they have cold or flu symptoms or also test positive.

What to expect if you test positive

  • Most people experience an illness similar to a cold or flu. It is important to stay rested, drink plenty of fluids and have some paracetamol if required for fever or pain.

Your Doctor OR Nurse will contact you and check how you are coping, and if extra health support is needed.

If you, or a family member's health worsens, please contact your GP or Health line 0800 358 5453.
If you become severely unwell please call 111 and ask for an ambulance.

Please remember the best way to manage the spread of the virus is with regular hand washing/gel, mask wearing, social distancing and of course vaccination. If you are unwell, stay home and get tested.

Our staff are here to support and assist your care and recovery.
Stay well and take care of each other,

Nga Mihi,

The Team at MMC
